Help with understanding the requirements of UK Timber Regulation and achieving compliance, including an editable 'Supplier Timber Declaration Template' and tracker to log timber sources and demonstrate due diligence
Highlights:
Since 1 January 2021, the UK Timber Regulation (UKTR) has prohibited the sale of illegally harvested timber and timber products in GB and created legal obligations for organisations first placing these products on the market to exercise due diligence. Products that contain timber and timber products must be without risk of illegality. In this aspect, organisations that first place these products on the GB market have various legal obligations to meet, including the duty to exercise due diligence.
The guidance and template are designed to assist companies in achieving compliance. The latest version, updated in May 2024, includes additional tables that list sources, examples of responses, and evidence for due diligence and risk mitigation. The template also features a tracker that can be used to record timber sources and demonstrate due diligence.
