FIRA Gold Certification

First launched in 1984, FIRA Gold Certification is the recognised quality mark within the furniture industry.

All products in the furniture sector, whether complete finished items or individual components are eligible for FIRA Gold Product Certification. To achieve this esteemed certification, products must undergo rigorous assessment and testing against all the relevant standards. This process includes regular factory audits and a re-testing program to ensure ongoing consistency and quality.

In the early 1990s, the scheme expanded to include installation services. FIRA Gold Installation Certification requires companies to demonstrate high standards in their installation practices. This includes having all necessary procedures, documentation, and quality standards in place. Ongoing audits are carried out to ensure the installation services and documentation remains consistently high.

To be eligible, companies must also be members of the Furniture Industry Research Association, which ensures their commitment to excellence in the furniture industry.
