Compliance Scheme benefits for retailers

The scheme offers tailored advice in relation to the FFFSR. Certified Companies who meet the requirements of the scheme can use this as evidence of due diligence in the event that local enforcement bodies interpret the Regulations differently.

Further benefits for retailers include:

• During manufacturer or factory selection, the Scheme can help you determine who to select based on their ability to meet the Regulations
• Reduces conflict or inconsistence in approach between different local authorities’ interpretation of the Regulations

The scheme is open to manufacturers, retailers and upholsterers of any size. Upholstered products covered include chairs, sofas, stools, floor and scatter cushions, materials and upholstery itself which may be sold separately, or used for re-covering.

You do not need to be a member of the Furniture Industry Research Association to be part of the Compliance Scheme.
