How to join the FIRA Flammability Compliance Scheme

The scheme is designed specifically for those within the furniture industry who manufacture, upholster or retail upholstered furniture and who are committed to ongoing compliance with the UK flammability regulations.

In order to become a Certified Company you will need to undergo a thorough audit, carried out by FIRA International (who are the commercial service provider for the Furniture Industry Research Association). This audit will assess how well your current processes are in line with the Regulations and may flag up some recommendations required to be fully compliant in order to be accepted into the scheme.

You do not need to be a member of the Furniture Industry Research Association to be part of the scheme.
