Update on fire safety of contract seating in domestic settings

The Research Association has set up a cross sector steering group consisting of manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and users with the aim of establishing clear furniture fire safety guidelines that can be applied to office chairs used in the home. This group recently met for the first time to discuss issues raised in recent months, and work by the Research Association which has been put to the Office for Product Safety Standards and the National Trading Standards forum to seek clarification

The steering group achieved unanimous agreement to pursue the following goals:
