PEFC Annual Stakeholder Event Report October 2018
FIRA promotes the use of sustainable and legally sourced timber products throughout the industry via the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) and its involvement on the committee that prepared PAS 2021, a document that provides guidance on the due diligence required to meet the EU Timber Regulation (EU No 995/2010).
On Tuesday 16th October 2018, a representative of FIRA joined approximately 80 other industry stakeholders at the PEFC Annual Stakeholder Meeting, held in London at the NVCO building.
The diverse agenda included speakers presenting on “cup-cycling” as part of the circular economy, forests and fashion examining sustainable timber fibres in the fashion industry, block chain and timber trading and the renaissance of timber based products in the construction industry.
