Standards meeting update - Jun - 2017

A meeting of the combine UK standards committees for furniture was recently held at BSI in London.
The meeting, chaired by FIRA’s General Manager, Phil Reynolds, discussed European proposals that affect all furniture. The key areas discussed were:
- EN 1022 Furniture. Seating. Determination of stability – The UK chose to vote against this standard as there were a number of technical issues;
- Furniture. General safety guidelines. Entrapment of fingers – The UK supported this document
