Standards meeting report – seat loading template
CEN TC207 WG9, the committee with the responsibility for developing European test method standards, recently held a workshop to discuss issues reported in defining the seat loading point when testing stability to the recently published EN 1022: 2018 Furniture - Seating - Determination of stability.
The workshop did identify an issue when testing rigid seating with large holes in the back support, and recommended solutions. However as the standard has only recently been published after an extensive revision, it was recommended that the committee should wait 12–18 months, to assess any other changes, before launching an amendment or revision.
