Standards meeting report – foldaway beds

An adhoc meeting was recently held in London to discuss the potential revision of EN 1129 Parts 1 & 2 Furniture — Foldaway beds — Safety requirements and testing. This standard is currently listed in the Official Journal of the European Community and so is considered to meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations.
It was agreed to continue with a revision of the standard and extend the scope from just beds that are attached to the structure of a building, and include freestanding beds and those with electrical actuation.
