Standards Meeting Report – Domestic furniture

A meeting of CEN TC207 WG1, the European committee tasked with producing standards for domestic furniture was recently held in Nuremberg.
The key discussion areas at the meeting focused on:
- How the changes to the Machinery Directive guide affects electrically powered furniture;
- A decision to start an amendment of EN 14749, the safety standard for domestic storage furniture, to better reflect the risks associated with TV furniture;
- A decision to start a revision of EN 1725, the safety standard for domestic beds.
