Research Association release Lean Training Toolkit Part 3 - Visual Management
The third part of the Furniture Industry Research Association’s Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit, which focuses on ‘Visual Management’, is now available for members.
The aim of Visual Management is to communicate quickly and simply at all levels of a business to enable the achievement of customer satisfaction in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
Communication between layers of an organisation, from the shop floor to management is important. When shop floor staff clearly understand the organisation's strategy, direction, and current situation, they can appreciate how their efforts are contributing to the business.
A visual management board displays the performance, method, layout and status of a production cell in a clear visual form. It is a good way to involve all team members and an ideal meeting point to discuss performance and any issues on a daily basis.
This Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit provides all the necessary information to perform practical and theoretical training in this lean principle and includes:
- Agenda to plan a training course
- PowerPoint presentation with notes
- Board templates
Members of The Research Association can access the ‘Visual Management’ Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit here.
Available for Non-members to purchase from the FIRA bookshop priced at £80.
The previously released ‘5C Workplace Organisation’ and ‘7 Wastes’ Lean Training Toolkits are available for members via the knowledge hub.
