Research Association publishes new guide ‘Insight into Standards’
The Furniture Industry Research Association has released its latest project for members called ‘Insight into Standards.’ This new guide aims to help members understand the importance of standards, the development process, and how they can get involved in future standards-making.
Levent Caglar, Senior Ergonomist and Head of Consultancy at FIRA International (the service provider to the Furniture Industry Research Association), authored this 46-page guide. Regarding the guide, Levent Caglar said, “I hope this document will take the mystery out of standard making and encourage FIRA members to participate in the development of standards actively.”

- Types of standards
- Users of standards
- The legal status of standards
- Standards-making bodies and the relationship between National (BS), European (EN), and International (ISO) standards
