New standard for furniture hardware published

A new European Standard has been published - BS EN 15939: 2019 Hardware for furniture - Strength and loading capacity of wall attachment devices.
The standard replaces the previous 2011 version with immediate effect. The standard is designed to be used by hardware manufacturers to understand the performance of their products and give guidance to furniture manufacturers. Key changes in the new version are:
- Deletion of one test frame to simplify testing;
- A method to verify functionality of adjustments after testing has been added;
- A new informative annex C added to assist with assessing the loads exerted on different shaped carcases and their impact on wall hanging devices.
