A revised version of the European test method standard for cots has been published. BS EN 716-2: 2017 Furniture -- Children's cots and folding cots for domestic use. Part 2 Test Methods replaces the previous 2008 version (amended in 2013) with immediate effect.
At this point in time, however, the revised version of BS EN 716-1 Furniture — Children's cots and folding cots for domestic use. Part 1 Requirements has not been published. This means there is currently a requirements document referencing a withdrawn test method standard. It is expected that the revised Part 1 document will be published in the coming days.
The main changes compared to the 2013 amendment are an update of incorrect references to clause numbers, a further clarification of the test mattress and a modification of the folding test for mattress/cot bases.
