New Child care standard published

FIRA can announce that a new standard for child care articles has been published:
BS EN 1272:2017 Child care items – Table mounted chairs – Safety Requirements and Test methods
This standard replaces the original 1998 version with immediate effect. The standard is an extensive re-write of the standard using a hazard based approach, explaining the risks associated with the product. The standard uses the current state of the art requirements, as used in other child care standards. It should be noted that as the standard as flammability requirements, the UK has claimed an ‘A’ deviation as these articles are covered by the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations, which take precedence over the standard.
