Latest update on standards - Sep - 2017
The latest quarterly 'Standards Update' from the Furniture Industry Research Association is now available to members.
The 9 page document covers new and revised standards being published, alongside details of the new guide to the EU machinery directive issued in July 2017 - which has a major impact on all motorised domestic furniture such as recliner chairs, rise-recliner chairs, electrically adjustable beds, height adjustable desks and electrically actuated kitchen furniture.
Areas addressed in the update include non-domestic storage, non-domestic tables and desks, office seating / non-domestic seating, office desking, educational furniture, beds, domestic seating, kitchens, children's furniture, hardware, surface finishes and finger entrapment.
