ISO TC 136 furniture standards meeting reports
A week of planned standards meetings due to take place Cologne in April were changed to online meetings. The main standards covered included:
ISO TC 136 WG3 Storage
The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the comments received after the circulation of Committee Draft ISO 7170 Furniture - Storage units - Test methods for the determination of strength, durability and stability. Notable changes were made to the draft.
ISO TC 136 WG6 Children’s furniture
The main topic was to discuss the comments received after the circulation of Committee Draft ISO 23767 Children’s furniture - mattresses for cots and cribs - Safety requirements and test methods. Notable changes were made to the draft.
ISO TC 136 WG1 Seating
There were two main topics: the amendment to the Annex C of ISO 24496: 2017 (Office Furniture - office chairs - methods for the determination of) and the discussion of remaining a few changes which were made as a result of the workshops held previously for the draft ISO/WD 7173, Furniture - seating - test methods for the determination of strength and durability.
ISO TC 136 WG2 Tables
The main topic of this meeting was to discuss ISO WD 19682; Furniture - Tables - Test methods for the determination of stability, strength and durability.
ISO TC 136 WG7 Mattresses – Methods of test
Draft ISO WD 23769 Furniture - Mattresses - Test methods for the determination of functional characteristics. The key notable changes made to the draft ISO WD 23769.
