FISP Welcomes New Steering Committee Members

The Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) is pleased to announce a number of new faces to its Steering Committee.

Founded in 2006, FISP has established itself as the leading initiative for companies in the furniture industry to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable business practices. The Steering Committee, made up of members of the scheme, plays a vital role in ensuring its ongoing evolution.

The new members are:

  • Simone Greyling, Group Sustainability and Environment Manager, Ocee & Four Design
  • David Matthews, Director, Rhubarb Seating Limited
  • David Murphy, Managing Director, EFG Office
  • Trevor Nixon, Head of Environment, Health & Safety (US and Retail UK), Wren Kitchens
  • Paul O'Brien, Head of Sustainability, The Senator Group plc
  • Andy Price, Director, Hunts Office Furniture

They join existing members from other FISP certified companies.

Says Steering Group chairman Jessica Alexander of the National Bed Federation (NBF): “We are delighted to welcome our new Steering Group members - each of whom brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective”

“With this strong committee in place, we look forward to driving the scheme's development forward to help ensure that the furniture industry not only meets but exceeds its sustainability goals”.

Jessica Alexander took on the role of chairman in 2023 following the retirement of Alun Watkins. Says Jessica: “Going forward, we have established a clear and effective rotation system for the chair position, ensuring that it will cycle among the four supporting trade associations – British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM), Commercial Interiors UK (CIUK), Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA), and NBF - every two years.”
