Fire safety of contract seating in domestic settings - News - The Furniture Industry Research Association - Feb -2021
The Furniture Industry Research Association's industry Steering Group for Fire Safety of Contract Seating in domestic settings had their second meeting in early February 2021.
The summary of clarifications from TSO's National Product Safety Group and the Office for Product Safety Standards (OPSS) on the applicability of Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 to contract seating used in domestic environments was discussed in detail.
From responses received via TSO and OPSS, the group looked at four chair scenarios, as shown below, on the applicability of FFFSR and the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) to each scenario.
