British Standards for kitchen furniture to be revised

At a recent meeting at BSI in London it was agreed that the two main British Standards for kitchen units are to be updated:
- BS 6222-2 ‘Domestic kitchen equipment Part 2: Fitted kitchen units, peninsular units, island units and breakfast bars – Performance requirements and test methods’ will have minor amendments and is likely to be published within 6 months
- BS 6222-3 ‘Domestic kitchen equipment. Part 3: Performance requirements for durability of surface finish and adhesion of surfacing and edging materials Specification’ will have more radical changes and will be subject to a full revision. The target date for publication is July 2017.
