JPA Workspaces Win 2023 King's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development
Royal Recognition for JPA Workspaces:
We are incredibly excited to announce that JPA Workspaces have been honoured with one of the first 2023 King's Awards for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category.
The King’s Awards (previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise) are part of a prestigious and highly-regarded scheme that recognises outstanding achievements by UK businesses. What’s more, JPA are one of only 15 companies nationally to receive a commendation for Sustainable Development in 2023.
The award is a reflection of our shared values and common purpose, to embed sustainability company wide. Working as one team, this recognition is proof that we can achieve our goals together.
Richard Cooksey, JPA Workspaces CEO, said: “We are thrilled to receive The King’s Award 2023 for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category – this has been a true team effort, and it has given us all a massive boost to receive this special recognition. We have a fantastic team that have worked for years with our clients and with our Head of Sustainability, Fiona Edwards, to embed sustainability into everything we do.”
Fiona Edwards, Head of Sustainability, said: “I’m thrilled and delighted for our wonderful team to be recognised in this way and couldn’t be more proud. It’s a culmination of many years of development and a business purpose underpinned by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Net Zero 2050.”
National Recognition for a Growing Business: It is a huge accolade for JPA Workspaces to be recognised nationally for the commitment to sustainability that drives our vision and the way we work with clients. This is just the latest in a long line of UK-wide awards that JPA have received for our sustainable business practices, and it shows that our endeavours are being recognised cross-industry on a broader scale.
More About the Award: The King’s Awards scheme was instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965 with the first Awards made in 1966 (Gazette issue 43953) under the scheme’s original title, The Queen’s Award to Industry. In 2023, it was announced that the awards would be renamed The King's Awards for Enterprise following the accession of King Charles III.
To receive the award, JPA Workspaces will be formally presented with a Grant of Appointment scroll and a commemorative crystal bowl by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, The King’s personal representative, at our offices later this year. We will also be invited to attend a Royal Reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by His Majesty King Charles III in June 2023.
Onward and upward: what’s next for JPA Workspaces? The King’s Award is the most prestigious business award in the UK, and we will be able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years. But make no mistake, we won’t be resting on our laurels. There’s still lots more to be done in our quest to reduce carbon emissions and develop workspaces that are better for people and planet.
A key commitment we have made is to the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign that aims to halve carbon emissions by 2030. As part of this pledge, we are working towards reducing waste and carbon in all our business activities. You can find out more about the Race to Zero in our fact sheet:
A Team Effort: Our team's hard work, dedication and commitment to sustainability have underpin this achievement. It is their tireless efforts, passion, and teamwork that have enabled us to stand out in a highly competitive industry and emerge with the recognition we deserve. You have all gone above and beyond in your roles, and your contributions have not gone unnoticed. Once again, thank you for your exceptional contribution, and all of us at JPA Workspaces look forward to what the future holds.
